I am most decidedly not a horticulture expert. But, I do look forward every year to the first vine ripened Big Boy Tomato from the Cahill Garden (which is actually spread about the yard, in any spot where I was able to get a blade in the rock infested soil…).
You see, the first vine ripened Big Boy Tomato means one thing: it’s tomato sandwich time.
There’s nothing like a couple slices of homegrown tomato with mayonnaise and possibly a piece or two of bacon on a some nice toast. It reminds me of that some of the best things in life are the simple things.
It’s sunny, I’m digesting the first of many sandwiches to come, and life is good!
